Lightning Struck (First Draft)

Worrying Through The Storm

I glanced out the window and saw the moon hiding behind the clouds. Just then, lightning struck. I closed my curtains and ran to bring my dog in the house. As I made my way downstairs, I heard a tree fall just outside my house.

I opened my front door to find a whole tree had really fallen and was blocking me from leaving my house. But I didn't too much care about that seeing as my main goal was to find my dog. So I instantly ran to the backyard window and saw my dog, Rafe, crying to get in. I opened the door and Rafe sprinted inside. Now that Rafe was in, my only thought was "where is my wife and daughter?".

I tried to call but I was getting no answer. I was so worried that I began pacing. Rafe was hiding underneath the dinning room table, whimpering. The storm outside was getting worse by the second. I wanted to do something but I knew I couldn't. But just then, I heard a knock at the back door. I walked over and saw my wife, Lynn, and my daughter, Lexi, standing at the door. I opened the door and hugged both of them at the same time. As I released them from my hug, the storm stopped and I felt happy that everybody was safe.
